For the 3-draw application, there’s a function for returning the Odd count, another for the sum of all 3 draws (75% of the time the sum is between 6 and 19 when adding all three digits for CA Daily 3), a checkbox list is there that filters the criteria for all three numbers, where selecting 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in the checkbox list will return all combinations of those numbers and nothing greater than 6 in the result set is returned.  In the near future I’ll add a Multiple Select List box to return a “Kitchen Sink model” where all criteria can be return in a huge record-set.  Tester's for this 3 draw application, as well as new suggested metrics to code are welcome./>

<10/27/2007> There has been a huge run of Pairs repeating over the last 11 draws with the number two being picked 7 times in 12 draws. Over the last few weeks, most of my development work on this project has been on the .NET side though I've also changed most of everything to this new template.

<10/2/2007>  In the last three days, I built version 1.0 of a block of code that generates all possible combinations of 5 draws from a pool of 15 numbers.  It was built using ASP.NET 2.0 and SQL Server 2005.  On the third day, I was up at 5AM ironing out one of the last two kinks in the code, taking a coffee break one hour later.  At 1 PM I came back to it with a fresh pair of eyes and fixed the remaining piece.  The addition to v. 1.0 will have other criteria that an end user could specify, such as show all possibilities where these X "hot" numbers are anywhere in the draw; or 1 from 2 days back and 2 from 4 days back etc.  This block of code will also (soon) look into kicking out "unlikely" types of draws such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5; or where all 5 draws are odd or even.  I've also built a few other ASP.NET functions in new pages over the last week, it has been a lot of fun building it.  It is safe to say I have around 500 pages of VB code for Excel and Access (mostly DAO, a little ADO) that I'll be moving over to VB.NET (later on it'll be C#) and SQL Server 2005.  There is lots still more to add to the ASP.NET and database side to the application.  Lastly, I'll be extending the code so that all possible combinations of 3, 4, or 5 draws from a range of X numbers (x range = 10 - 27) can be generated and tested, filtered ad nauseum  (Old stats professor's joke: you torture the data long enough it will confess to anything!).

<9/1/2007>  The draw on 8/31 had a lot of "turnover", which is numbers that hadn't been picked for many draws are now being re-placed in the machine's sampling pool.  The five right most columns of the Posi-tracker table records the replacement of a particular number ( where it was last picked and in which relative position).  On those days you generally DON'T want to play.</>
